Here he pre- sents the ball to Carol Ann See, winner of the draw. Powderpuff results Old Mares claim victory Old Grey Mares 15 Purple 92 10 Aggressive bats made the differ- ence in this five-run victory. Heavy hits by Melanie Hewson, who had a homer and triple, Jeanette Brandford, who also homered, and Linda McClure, with a triple and two doubles, paced the Mares to the win. Good pitching by Hewson, who allowed four runs in three innings. Purple’s Cindy Bodrug belted out a triple to drive in two runs. A nice double by Debbie Tatham and dive back to second by Donna Harden saved an inning. A good game allround. In Living Color 13 irt B: 1 In Living Color’s Cathy Dawson hit a double and went 4-for-4 at the plate. Margaret Entwistle hit a dou- ble and finished with three runs- batted in. Outstanding pitching by Donna Leunenberger, who had nine strikeouts. Irene Botz went 4-for-4 with two runs-batted in. Dirt Bags just could not get their bats going. It was Fay Bradford’s hit that brought in Dirt Bags’ only run. Good fielding b y Jodi Fournier and a great double by Colleen Costello. Sharks 16 Stealers 15 A close competition with the Sharks pulling in one run for the win. Stealers played a.good game. with a home run by Lois Muir, fol- lowed by a triple for three runs-bat- ted in. Peggy Rawlings started it off with a steal of home and two runs- batted in. Marie Doucette had three runs-batted in and Andrea Ford drove in a pair. Laura Given pitched a great game, making two great grabs to get the outs. The entire team pitched in for a close game. Dinomite 11 Dirt Bags 10 A good game by the entire Dinomite team. Linda Ovenden played well at second base beside shortstop Wendy Reed. Left-field action was dominated by Lisa Witton, who made a tremendous game-saving catch in the seventh. Coming in a c lose second, Dirt Bags also had notable batting and fielding. Lynda Chadwick belted out a homer and a triple. Great bats by Colleen Costello and Pat Morey. Goldie Cash pitched a four-pitch inning and made a great catch for an out. Purple 92 15 Sharks 6 Great Purple offence in the sec- ond with two out. Those bats were humming. A triple by Anne Dale drove in three runs and Deb Tatham and Donna Harden each had a two RBI night. Good defence held the Sharks down for a Purple win. runs. Dawn Broadbent made great defensive plays in the outfield while shortstop Tammy Lockwood did the same. Thanks to Andy Broadbent for stepping in to umpire at the last minute. A great triple by Patti Puckering and dou- bles by Colleen Cadger, Holly Peterson, Betty Flikkema, Paulette Friolet and Bev Maybury. Patti Sunnucks had two doubles. Great defensive plays by Sheila Willis, Jennifer Skinner and Cadger. Handwashed slowly wiped out for the loss. Great pitching by Shannon russell and Lisa Switzer. Great catching by Penny Cassista and Donna Davey. An allround good game in the field and at the plate by Theresa Robinson. Blue Steal 14 Diamonds in the Rust 7 Blue Steal doubled the score with a strong offensive showing. Triples by Bev Bird and Kim Kirk. A dou- ble by Judy Faulhafer and two sin- gles by Brenda Snow along with some great fielding. Pitching per- fection by Judy F and Jean Puckering. Rust performed a great allround game.
