We played against some very expe- rienced teams most being involved for at least four years. This being our first year of rookie-ball would prove to be very exciting. The whole team put their best efforts into every game, and to our sur- prise we were more than just com- petitive. Our first-game against Hamilton ended in the first victory for Georgetown 20-14. Our second game we fought off bad weather and played Guelph. Here again the team shined and took another victory 4-3. Our third game was to b ea chal- lenge, we were playing the O.B.A. rookie-ball champs — Thornhill. It was a hard fought game to the end. Georgetown showed their great potential but were defeated 13-4. Our fourth and fifth games were played against Burlington, another top O.B.A. champion. The first game was an eye opener for our team, but they still showed their stuff to a defeat of 15-9. The second game we came back strong and alive and would show Burlington what we were really mae of to take the victory of 14- bane whole season for the rookie- ball team was a great success, who says Georgetown doesn’t have top rep team players. These kids played with their hearts and the love for baseball. We want to thank all the parents for traveling to the games, and giving the kids their support along with a lot of loud cheering. Thanks to the kids for making this a memorable summer for the coaches. We, the rookie team would like to invite Georgetown to cheer us on at our exhibition tournament September 19 at the Fairgrounds.
