Georgetown’s Ken Gorin was awarded a Thea award by the Association of Community Theatres - central Ontario division - for best supporting actor in his role as Alfred P. Doolittle. Gorin played the role in Georgetown Globe Productions’ performance of My Fair Lady last fall. For those of you who may have missed it, Gorin is repeating his performance in November for the Brampton Musical Society, of which he is also a member. Gorin and his wife Hazel have lived in Georgetown for 32 years and have been active in community theatre for several years. Neither have had any formal training in ‘ama. The award is Gorin’s first. Gorin says he first became inter- ested through barber shop singing. He originally performed with Globe when they were revitalized in 1980 and produced Anything Goes. If you’re interested in catching Gorin in his award-winning perfor- mance as Mr. Doolittle, the ‘Brampton Musical Society’s My Fair Lady will play at the Lester B.
