Sugared Tank A Georgetown man complained to 11 Division police that an unknown suspect put sugar in his gas tank sometime during the first week of October, causing him to pay for a new fuel filter. His vehi- cle was parked on Main Street South. Hit and Run A hit and run early last Saturday morning at Clayhill Road and 9th Line caused more than $700 dam- age to a suspect’s vehicle, a light standard and a retaining wall. A licence plate was left behind at the scene, said police. Twelve hours after the incident the suspect reported it to 11 Division. A 41- year-old Erin man has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and failing to report damage. He will appear in Milton court. Lights Smashed Vandals smashed the headlights and tailgates of five cars parked on a Glen Williams car lot Monday afternoon. Police estimate the dam- age at over $500. Bucket Stolen An excavator bucket was stolen from a Georgetown business on Mountainview Road N. and River Road last week. Police estimate the theft at $3,000. Lot Singed Suspect(s) set fire to a six inch piece of wood in the centre of a paved parking lot on Mill Street, Acton last Tuesday. The suspect(s) then poured barbeque lighter fluid on the wood and ignited it, said police. The small fire quickly extin- guished itself. Police estimate the theft at $200. Equipment Stolen An Armstrong Avenue industry was broken into Tuesday night. Over $4,000 in equipment was stolen, including a generator, acety- lene torches and an ait compressor, police said. The investigation will continue. Camera and Cash Taken A Halton Hills man reported a camera and $150 cash missing from his 10th Line home. Nothing else was touched, said police, and there were no signs of forced entry. Purse Snatcher Nabbed A 25-year-old unemployed Milton man was arrested and charged with robbery after a purse- snatching incident of a 91-year-old woman in Milton last month. He will appear in Milton court. Public Mischief Charge An 57-year-old Acton man has been charged after an incident involving impaired driving last Sunday. Around 3:30 p.m. the accused was was involved in a minor accident at Willow and Bower Streets in Acton, police said. Twenty minutes later police located the accused at his resi- dence. According to police reports the man was highly intoxicated and wanted to report his car “stolen.” After further investigation he was arrested and taken for a breathalyz- er. He is charged with public mis- chief and will appear in Milton court.
