Fans will enjoy $1 General Admission and a Free Pro opening night, and intertrack wagering will be available at Woodbine, Mohawk, and Fort Erie. Racing programs will operate five times a week - Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays with a 7:30 P.m. post time, and Saturdays and Sundays with a 1:30 post time, through to Saturday, March 20, 1993. For the first time, racing fans will view the harness races under the new stadium lighting system that was installed Aa to the thorough- bred fall meet The tighting system, changed to reduce energy consumption and provide better conditions for horse- men and racing fans, was a joint venture between the Ontario Jockey Club and Ontario Hydro. The new fixtures will consume less than half the energy of the previous light standards. GEORGETOWN. There are a few changes in the racing ses during the month of Decem! Harness Horsemen’s Wives will host their annual Food Drive to benefit the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto. Patrons who donate a canned or non-perishable food item will receive $1 General Admission. The winter meet will feature numerous stakes series including ¢ Horsemen’s Series Trot in January, The Damsel Pacing Series in February, The Toronto Pacing Series in February, and The Cam Fella Pacing Series in March. People's Horse makes final start for the season Commencing Friday, December 11 Greenwood will simulcast thor- oughbred racing from Calder in Florida. Simulcast wagering is available throughout December with a 12:30 p.m. post time, except for December 14, om through 25, and 28 through 31. As well, there is racing on January 1 and 2, also with a 12:30 p.m. post time. Wish Foundation Receives Greetings from OJC The Trotting Ladies Charities Kee Pek co-ordinated a Christmas Greetings Program whereby O.J.C. manage- ment, staff, and horsemen could videotape a holiday greeting in exchange for a donation to benefit The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Ontario chapter. The greet- ings will be played on the O.J.C.’s in-house T.V. system through to January 1. A total of $3,180 was raised from this project for The Children’s Wish Foundation. Zt FOOd & Toy Drive tf Bows merchants and management of Georgetown Marketplace want to help those less fortunate for Christmas. We need your help so we can help. By donating unwrapped toys or tin goods to our big truck located by Santa's House in the Mall, you will be helping over 200 children have a happier Christmas. All donated food and toys will be distributed by the officers of the "Love in Christ Food Bank". Special thanks to "The Bear" at Georgetown Chrysler for the use of the vehicle. These” monies will be shared by the Ron Bertram Appointed VP of Marketing Ron Bertram commenced his duties as Vice-President of Marketing on December 2nd. Mr. Bertram, a Toronto native, joins the'O.J.C. management team from a private marketing consulting practise and has over thirty years experience in marketing consulting. Prior to consulting, Mr. Bertram was Chief Operating Officer of Toronto’s bid to host the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
