It is the month that over 80 million Easter Seals are mailed to 3.5 million households all over the province to raise funds for Easter Seal services that help youngsters live fuller, more independent lives. “Over 245 affiliated Easter Seal service clubs will coordinate their annual campaigns in an effort to reach the provincial campaign tar- get of $3.1 million,” said Barry Timleck, Easter Seal Campaign chairperson for the Rotary Club of Georgetown. “Health care and spe- cial equipment are not immune to rising costs. Sources of financial support for these things are decreasing. It is very important, therefore that the people of Georgetown think of the needs of Easter Seal kids and be generous in their support.” Contributions help support chil- dren from birth to age 19 who have physical disabilities as a result of cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscu- lar dystrophy, multiple conditions, rare syndromes and accidents caus- ing spinal damage and/or amputa- tions. The Easter Seal Society provides direct consultative services in the home by 36 registered district nurs- es, five residential summer camps, diagnostic clinics in Northern Ontario, financial assistance for equipment and transportation, par- ent/family support, respite care pro- grams, preschools, and rehabilita- tion research grants. “Children with physical disabili- ties do not live in a dream world. They are faced with harsh realities every minute of the day,” added Barry Timleck. “Helping the chil- dren live with these realities and to achieve their personal milestones is an ongoing commitment of Easter Seals and one which our club is proud to be associated with.” Call Your 284,900 Asking. 4 ting well back on 3 acre lot.
