Real life hits the musical stage By Oksana Buhel For a few minutes, real life will twin with stage life in the Brampton Musical Society produc- tion of Oklahoma. Jo-Ann Brownsey and Bill Cook, who play sweethearts Ado Annie Will Parker in the production, will tie the knot on stage, following the last show this evening. The hero and the heroine, Curley. (David Shrubsole) and Laurey (Debbie Tilson), will be standing up for the couple. Both artists are natives of Halton Hills. Shrubsole is an Acton teacher, and Tilson was born and raised in Georgetown.. The couple’s relationship began and progressed on stage, and the wedding is soo a continuance of their “stage life Brownsey oa Cook met during an audition of Anything Goes in the fall of 1989. Cook proposed to Brownsey while she was on stage at the Nottawasaga Inn. And now they are getting married on stage. “We were engaged for a-year- and-a-half, and everyone was ask- ing us when we were going to get married. We kept telling them that when neither of us was doing a show, then we’d do it. But we were often in shows together, so we thought, ‘Well, if we’re always together now, we may as well get Their wedding will coincide with another important date.
