Fireballs 12, SA-FIRES 7 The SA-FIRES were in fine form but the Fireballs’ were just too hot to handle. Jeanette Brandford had two doubles, one RBI and stole home. Goldie Cash, well known for her bunt, laid down a perfect one. She also had four RBI’s, a triple and a double. Pat Morey and Sharon Sargent had an RBI each, For the SA-FIRES, Julie Cutting (another nail broken) got on base three times and had two RBI’s. The pitchers, Linda Anderson and Donna Leuenberger, showed great finesse on the mound. Penny Presley is to be commended for her 8reat work behind the plate with two tag outs. Good game by all. Catch the Wave 17, Hoyas 4 The Wave just couldn’t be caught. Deb Sweeny showed she knew how to use the bat with two doubles and a triple. Excellent line drive catch by Janet Ransom with a quick toss to second for a double play. Roseanne Harrison hit a great two RBI double to Pickup the Points. Great defensive Play by Dini Fisher and a surprise catch by Janet Poirer to end the game. Snowy’s Grapevine had a much better game. Lisa Switzer and Carrie Walsh both Pitched an excellent game. Jaded Bunch 14, Blew By You 12 It was a close game, but The Bunch kept ahead. Doreen Dobins had a double and did a great job on the mound. She also made an impressive long drive down third, Stacey Hamilton pitched well and showed good ball sense making several key plays. Kim Kirk had three RBI’s.and a double and made it home all three times at bat. Jennifer Ripley played well behind the plate and kept the base stealing to a minimum for the other team. Fallen Angels 5, Blew By You 5 For the Angels it was Dianna Tripp, Marie Doucette and Gail Sheppard all banging out doubles and Linda Wier hitting a triple. Good game, ladies, but Blew By You evened the score with Paulette Friolet hitting a double and a triple and Bonnie Hatcher also hitting a triple. Caryn Shearer made a nice double play at shortstop.
