It is the time of year when plans are finalized and arrangements made for our summer street decorations, beautification and Pioneer Days. Very shortly our summer decora- tions will be installed. New Downtown Georgetown banners and some new floral baskets have been purchased. These along with the existing banners will be used to decorate the area this year. Another step toward the completion of our overall beautification programme. Members of the Pioneer Days committee have been finalizing the programme for this event which takes place this week. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, June 17th., 18th.; and 19th. The theme for this year “Downtown Georgetown Salutes the Wild West”. Check today’s paper for specific times and events. In the meantime, here is a sneak preview. Wild West Baking Contest (open to all ages) - There are two cate- gories, apple pies and chocolate chip cookies. So, get out your best recipe, gather your ingredients and plan to bake. The contest takes place Friday 18th. - Judging 2:00 pm. Entries will be accepted from 10:00. am until 1:30 pm. Entry forms are now available and may be picked up from Cakes of Elegance or Foodstuffs.
