Longhorns romped over new league entry Muscle Pit 42-0 to remain undefeated after three games atop the loop standings; Dawgs Meznic Electric 15-14 and M&M Pro Sports just nudged Plus Welding, 16-15. onghorns 42 Muscle Pit 0 The iron-pumping crew got a les- son in the facts of flag football life Sunday and the lesson was - if you want to just graze in the grass in this league you’re going to get trampled. The ‘Horns came out with nostrils flaring and before the Pit crew could get out of their tank tops and give one for Arnie”, the game was over. There is a rumor that Muscle Pit did, however, win the pre-game coin toss. Unfortunately, they chose Men’s tele mmeteniey-1 1 to play the game rather than retire with honor. Longhorns led 28-0 at the half and pawed for 14 more second half points to win the lopsided 42-0 fair. Jim Lindsay continued his hot scoring streak with 13 points, Rob Rivers scored eight points, Bob Davey and Mark Hamilton each scored majors, Dave Patterson boot- ed two singles and Bill Taylor added a single. Mark Hamilton and Bob Davey had interceptions for the ‘Horns. M&M 16 Plus Welding 15 The inability to finish off long drives with points on the board once more plagued the Welders in this tough loss. Plus Welding led 7-6 at the half, courtesy of a Dave Civiero touch- down converted by Jeff Coulighan; Blue Springs Realty (Halton) Corp. ; INDUSTRIAL & RESI [REDUCED |p a * presently M-1 industrial FIRST TIME BUYERS SPECIAL ~ $114,900 RY ESTATE EXECUTIVE FARMER — COMMERCIAL OR INDUSTRIAL? Call HEATHE (WHITING) SCOTLAND** 853-2086, RMAC93-39 Newer steel building but commercial zoning Mark McKeon counted a major for M&M. McKeon was the main difference in the second half - and the game for that matter - as he got the M&M bunch on the board early and kicked along single late in the game, which proved to be the difference in this tight contest. McKeon had 13 points for the winners, with Richard Garden adding a field goal. Jeff Coulighan had seven points for Plus Welding, Dave Civiero counted a major, with Brent Hughes adding a two-point convert. Coulighan had an interception to go with his scoring points, while Mike Henderson had a pick-off for M&M. Dawgs 15 Meznic 14 The defending league champion Dawgs were caged and ready for the pound in this contest, but Meznic just short-circuited in the late going to let the mutts scurry home breath- ing a weary bark of relief. Dawgs don’t seem to be playing with the same intensity or ‘go for the throat’ drive thus far this young season that they have displayed in years past and were there for the muzzling in this match-up. Meznic welcomed back Gary Lockwood into the fold and appeared to be leading comfortably, 14-8 at the half. Whatever offensive magic Meznic had going for them in the first half, disappeared at halftime and the Dawgs pulled out the win by the skin of their canine teeth. With less than five minutes to go in the game, a Meznic scoring drive was stopped on the four-yard line and with only four plays left, Dawgs Dave Clements picked off an Hal Hulme toss deep in the Dawgs end to put a dogs collar on the game. Hal Hulme and Herb Hulme, scored majors for Meznic, with brother Howie adding a two-point convert. Dennis Hanley counted eight scoring points for Egan scored a major and Frank Bruno kicked a convert. 10:00 a.m. - Dawgs vs Plus Welding. 11:15 a.m. - M&M ys Muscle Pit The service is available in both English and French with numbers for both, toll free.
