When he was turned over to the Sheriff, the bounty ‘hunters received their rewards. If you were downtown on the Friday you were sure to see Cowboy Jim astride his wonder horse Mr. Mugs. Because they were having such a good time, they didn’t hit the trail until shortly before sundown. Music! Music! Music! The Pine Valley Squares kept toes tapping and I, along with a few other brave souls, took advantage of the audi- ence participation and learned a few steps (I think?)!| And _— Steve McTavish the country and western singer, gained a number of new fans. Then there were the many school students whose performances were a treat. Among them, members of the ‘Clowns’ show from Park, the grade 4 and 5 choir from George Kennedy, the stage band from Centennial and the Norval Village Children. The Pioneer Days commit- tee — Loree Calhoun, chair, Debbie Bick, Carol-Anne Fisher, Bryan Gilmore, Norman Holt, Terry Lafond, Debbie McCarthy and Bonnie Montgomery — promised a programme which would include some- thing for everyone and cer- tainly fulfilled it. Our thanks to the commit- tee, the businesses who sponsored additional activi- ties and prizes, Hodge for all his help in addition to clean- ing up at the end of each day and, last-but not least, you the community for your con- tinued support of Downtown Georgetown. Coming in September — Moonlight Madness! Watch the Downtown Page for information. THE LAST WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH IS SENIORS' DAY!
