This was the problem that faced the owner of the Conclaird Castle in Kirkmichael, Scotland. The castle is 40,000 are three times more effi- cient than electric heat, they will reduce the cost of heating, compared to electricity, by 66 per cent. A Canadian Geo-Solar Ground Source Heat Pump will provide years of low cost, low mainte- nance heating and air conditioning, and will square feet of history that dates back to the 1500’s. The existing heating system was old, costly to operate, dirty nd eared constant mainten Canada, Geo-Solar, a Fergus manufacturer of ground and water source heat pumps, was presented with this problem. After a visit to the castle by two of the owners, it was decided that a custom unit could be built that would heat the castle efficiently. With our system, there would be no air pollution, no harmful emissions, and no con- sumption of any non- renewable resources. The final deciding factor was one of dollars and cents. The old coal fired boilers consumed 110 tons of coal per year at a cost of approximately $27,000 (Canadian). Calculations show that the new heating system will pay for itself in savings, long before the third heating season is over, and will continue to pro- vide pollution-free heating and hot water for the castle at a fraction of the current costs. We are short on castles in Canada, but many homes and businesses can benefit from the same technology. The advantages installing a Canadian Geo- Solar ground source heat pump are more than finan- cial. Our systems are friendly to the environment — they consume no fossil fuels, so they give off no air pollutants. Since they also provide hot water for your home or business. Since the heat pump is installed inside your facili- ty, it is not exposed to the extremes of our Canadian climate, and so requires lit- tle maintenance, other than the normal inspection and filter replacement. When you understand that, the constant low-grade heat that is required for a heat pump to operate, comes from the earth itself, and that this low-grade heat is continually being replen- ished by the changing sea- sons, and by the system reversal from heating to cooling, it becomes very clear, that almost all the energy you will ever need to heat and cool your home is right under your feet...and it’s free. : |
