Mohawk Raceway, the OJC’s country Taceway is ready for another exciting season of North America’s finest harness tacing starting Sunday (tomorrow) and continuing through Dec, 7. Opening week is highlighted by over $1.5. million in Grand Circuit stakes action featur- ing North America’s finest two and three-year-old trot- ting and pacing stars, not to mention the accomplished and prominent horsemen of the sport. Sunday night the season gets underway with the $225,000 Champlain Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts and the $220,000 Simcoe Stakes for thre: year-old pacing colts. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. and fans can enjoy the wel- come back pack - $1 General Admission and a free program. Racing continues at-the Campbellville oval with Grand Circuit stakes each night of opening week on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday with a 7:30 P.M. start each night. The Metro Pacing Stakes, which annually attracts the sport’s finest freshmen, with a purse of $600,000 is one of the big racing events of the meeting and is scheduled for Sept. 25 with elimina- tions on Sept. 18.
