RCA3-113 Georgetown hockey prod- uct Adam Bennett was trad- ed to the Edmonton Oilers last week from the Chicago Blackhawks, winger Kevin Todd in return. Bennett, who before he left for the Blackhawks training camp in August thought. he had a good chance to crack Chicago’s line-up; quickly saw the sit- uation turn around. He was ‘sent to the Indianapolis: Ice of the American Hockey League early in spring training and was obviously disappointed. “They (Blackhawks man- agement) told him. this spring they were going with the youth movement and this fall they didn’t tell’/him any- thing,” Said his father, Keith Bennett. The trade should help both Bennett and the Hawks. Bennett should get ice time who got: Adam Bennett with the rebuilding Oilers, especially if the rumors about defenseman Dave Manson being traded come true. Chicago ‘has been looking for wingers because the situ* ation with disgruntled Steve Larmer hasn’t been ironed out yet and Todd can get points and should flourish in Chicago. Todd scored 21goals and 42 assists for 63 points in 1991 for the New Jersey Devils in his first year in the NHL. . In the 1992-93 season Todd suffered from the dreaded sophomore jinx and was traded midway through the season to Edmonton, fin- ishing the campaign with only 9 goals and 14 assists for 23 points in'55 games. Bennett was Chicago’s sixth pick overall in the 1989. National Hockey League. Summer entry draft and played two full seasons ‘with Indianapolis. ~< Sheridan axes sports teams Sheridan College has been forced to cut six inter-colle- giate sports teams this year because of budget restraints.
