Page.18— Halton Hills. ‘Bl Week, Wednesday, November 10, 1993 By Mike Zrostek A senior football team with only 17 players is going to have a tough time winning games in any high school league. That was the case Rebels gave it everything in a 16-6 loss to Loyola in foot- ball playoff action. Fighting the numbers game throughout the season, Senior Reb gridders must wait end zone, scored the only touchdown for the Rebels on the day in the fourth quarter but it wouldn’t be enough on this day. Marinangeli credited his team with a solid effort despite sonie injuries late in the game, but questioned the commitment of some of the team members throughout the year at practices. “Some of the guys don’t have the philosophy of what it takes to play on a football team. Guys were missing Practices all year making it m like they were optional. You just can’t do that, I had to-bench two guys for the game because they missed tices.” Marinangeli however thinks that this year’s squad was not a 0-6 team but rather a .500 team and that may ‘til next year show next year. “There are a lot of lineman returning next year, (quarter- back) Paul Ingram got better as the year went on and with perhaps a new offensive set up, this team will improve. “If they are serious about Playing, it’s going to take more of a commitment by the players next yea con- cluded Marinangeli the Rebels year came to an end with the loss, but coach Randy Marinangeli . is . qrenaye looking ahead to next ye “we ae a good nucleus of guys here who want to play and with some juniors ready to come up next year, it will be exciting,” he said. The Rebels had no prob- lems moving the ball against the Loyola defense until they hit inside the 10-yard line where the Rebels just couldn’t punch it over. “T think we moved the ball easily. We completed the hitch passes all day but our problems all year have been inside the “red zone” and today was ou different,” said Marinan; Tan Suche who earlier had dropped a pass in the Call for our Fall Pump Specials Sale ends Nov. 15, 1993 (05) 875-1 MILTON TRUCK EQUIPPERS Bed Frame (39-54) Limit 2 Per Customer.
