- Description
- The Glen Hotel was built in 1848 by Mr. William Alexander, a local innkeeper and gentleman. The hotel provided rooms and meals for salesmen, farmers and merchants who had business in the Glen or were travelling to points beyond. William Alexander eventually leased the hotel operation to John Cooke, another local innkeeper. The last hotelier here was Thomas Jefferson Hill, father of the first Mayor of Halton Hills. The hotel was closed in 1919 when prohibition was imposed after which it was run as a boarding house. It is currently a private (semi) residence. The present owners are Paul & Daina Mousseau.
