ESQUESING HISTORICAL SOCIETY NEWSLETTER November 1990 CHRISTMAS ENTERTAINMENTS The annual Christmas entertainment of St. Alban's Sunday School was held on Thursday evening last in the Town Hall, and in spite of the disagreeable weather was fairly well attended. Instead of a cantata the programme consisted of choruses, dialogues, instrumental solos, a musical performance, and stereoptican views....Mr. George Hildenbrand operated the picture machine and pleased the audience with the numerous views he had to show.... The annual Christmas entertainment of the Methodist Sunday School on Christmas evening was an interesting occasion and was well attended. The programme comprised Christmas choruses by the school, Christmas stories told by Mrs. A. T. Brown, Misses Clara Moore and Marie Goodeve and H. P. Moore, music by the Sunday School orchestra, annual reports by the school's officers, presentation of diplomas to the primary graduates, and the distribution of the usual Christmas treats... The Baptist S.S. entertainment last Friday evening was an unqualified success. The program consisted of solos, duetts, choruses, and recitations by the children which were very creditably rendered.
