The Esquesing Historical Society is represented on the Halton Hills Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee, Residents Active In Development Decisions and the Halton Heritage Centre committee (new museum). We research local history, maintain an archives, answer genealogical queries, provide new street names for the Town of Halton Hills, arrange speakers and public meetings, phone local members before each meeting, fill in government forms, belong to the Ontario Historical Society and are generally all-round busy people. If this sounds like fun, consider becoming involved with the executive of our Society. We certainly need all the help we can get. New officers for the Society will be elected on Wednesday 12 February, 1992. The Cookie Exchange held at last December's meeting was a great success, so the Society again encourages everyone to bring two dozen cookies to our Herald meeting at Knox Church. You will go home with two dozen assorted cookies to serve to your yuletide guests. MILESTONES This is a new section of the newsletter which we intend to include in each issue. The purpose is to record quiet and subtle changes in our environment which may not make the newspapers, but could be very important to local historians in the future. Any items which you think may be note-worthy can be passed on to the executive for inclusion in the newsletter. Dates and sources are important! **Friday 25 October, 1991 - Traffic signals at Ashgrove were operating today for the first time. Traffic on Trafalgar Road and 10 Sideroad will have to obey the lights. They join lights at 5 Sideroad, which shows how busy Trafalgar Road is getting. Does anyone have a date for the Pineview traffic signals? -J.M. Rowe 4
