- Description
- #171 Main Street south.
Senior Citizen's apartment building erected in 1991. The building stands on land originally owned by George Kennedy and shown on his 1857 Registered Survey Plan. However, this and the surrounding parcels of land were not divided into lots at the time. Kennedy labelled the entire stretch of land Block C. According to Registered Plan 20R10390 of 1991, Block C, bounded by Main Street, Guelph Street, Park Avenue and Maple Avenue, was divided into 25 individual lots. It would appear from the available information that the majority of the land, including this parcel was purchased by the Barber family.
Original/Past land owners include: George Kennedy, Sarah Barber, J.R. Barber, and W. Bradley. - Notes
