- #139 Main Street south.
Berwick Hall was built as the residence of John R. Barber, Esq. And his wife Francis (nee. Barclay). John R. Barber was the son of James Barber of the Barber Woollen and Paper Mills and succeeded his father as the head of the family business. He was born in a wood frame house owned by his father which stood on this site in 1846. The house was later rented out as the parsonage. The building burned down in 1881. In 1882, J.R. commissioned a prominent Toronto architect, Edward J. Lennox, to design the present house named after his mother's birth place. - Notes
