the meantime the fair has shown much advancement this year was the silver ubilee year many of us can recall when the big event of this kind was the fat slock show in guelph we ve always regretted that we didn t go to one of those events in guelph before it fold ed up so we like to get down to the royal n to ronto every once in a while not that there seems any likelihood of its folding up during our event we didn t get lime lo jot through all the stock exhibits but we did find that halton county farmers are among the best this was particularly noticeable in the cattle exhibit and there seemed tarcely a section in either dairy or beef breeds where the names on the exhibit were not familiar to us the prominence of halton in agriculture was perhaps indicated best by the facl that this year it was mr s g bennetl of scolsdale farms who was prosidenl of the royal winter fair rwxllng btfwtm thm utft council deserves pay for hours spent at the bickering table by llm mil it wiitnt mil prlnln at a place along the highway for sup oil per the place caters to wedding parties and sum lar events as well as operating a reslauranl there t was a big wedding party that evening in the ban jj quet room and it had all the appearances of quite a social event we got our food in ihe restaurant and in one i corner we notfced iwo young couples a i a small lum table with one lone candle tn the centre of the table another glance showed us il was a smaller m wedding parly usl the bride and groom and we l suppose the bridesmaid and best man there was utud quite a contrast in the two wedding parties i nm bui the human interest side of it came when i we noticed the waiter fixing up dessert o wed s ding cake and some fancy items to serve to ihe su little group of four site confided to us that the lh couple m the corner didn t have any wedding lir cake and she had arranqed to qet some from the of cm hnr bigger party for their wedding supper after m lt all she said those kids are usl married too i we noted too that a word to another waiter sl brought forth four glasses of punch that wasn t on v ir the regular menu 11 s a good old world after all lhat fmeft a hu man touch that endeavors to bring
