parchment explaining the contents of the box and the price and contractors for the building historical articles uncovered as school corner stone removed uncovered fter being burled from sunlight or air tor 67 yean a treasure chest including four copies of the acton free press de tailing the steps taken leading up to the school building back in 1698 copies of the toronto dally mail the globe and the empire were revealed wednesday of this week when demolition work un covered from the cornerstone at the robert little public school a quart sealer containing historical coins and papers hidden at the bottom of the glass bottle were four coins with tba oldest one a 25 cent piece dat- 4l mntesrcfllill mere a 10 cent place dated 1685 a large ode cent piece dated 1888 and a small five cent piece the school board decided to build a new school section on the present site and engaged the services of john cameron of acton as architect joseph mason of brampton was awarded the contract for the new school at a tender price of 4 789 and clare brothers of preston re ceived the contract to install the wood furnace heating system at a tender price of 288 in the first part of june 1892 work started on the new building and the excavation was completed and stone work started on june u of fte sime year on july 8 1892 the cornerstone was laid during a small ceremony with the school board teachers and other town officials in attend ance in december of the name year the school was completed and officially opened during a public ceremony close 6 pm beginning the week of jul 4 the officii of the
