first to be selected as eed when the official system got underway during the years of the first great war certified seed potatoes of the irish cob bler variety have been grown on the griffin farm each year for the last 50 years the same strain roguing and election continued to improve in pro ductivity on the same farm for over 25 years seed from the farm has been widely dis tributed for many years in the early 20s a barrel of certified dooley potatoes was sent to russia mr griffin has won many major prizes in- eluding the first international award forseed potatoes he has attended the royal winter fair each year since it first began in 1922 every year exhibits have been shown from the griffin farm he has never missed the erin fall fair- hav ing attended the first as an in fant in arms
