township and jonl parton of jm denyes school in milton the six winners were named in the 11th annual grade five fire prevention poster contest the bureau has sponsored every grade five student in the county was invited to submit a paster on the theme flre prevention in the home and after area winters were named the posters went on to the haltonwide contest jud ges awarded their prizes on the basis of originality of thought design artwork and the fire pre vention message the posters con tained bureau chairman william hyde of georgetown explained both winners posters indic ated the students dorothy newton shirley jocque and margo math- eson who are working for their hostess badge and were res ponsible for serving refresh ments also mrs jean combe was present as a tester brown owl beryl newton and- packie nellie vanderkooy pre sented golden hands and wings to the girls each girl was given her guide pencil by the retiring brown owl and a small token of thanks was presented to packie sharon gillespie susanne stephenson debbie funk and janet green they were receiv ed by captain mrs chapman one brownie absent from the ceremony was cynthia barr the companies and new mem bers kept the
