mrs t j speight met with accident on centre itoau on sunday sevrral were severely injured in motor arculcnt involving three cars on the centre road near britannia shortly before noon on sunday last a car driven by clarence elliott of oshawa and going north met in collision with a car coming in the opposite direction driven by mr t j speight of georgetown who applied his brakes to avoid crashing into third car driven by c e trought which had stopped suddenly on the side of ihe pavement at the scene of an accident which had occurred at iho spot shortly before mr speight was thrown against his steering wheel and received serlpus internal injuries while mrs speight had her face severely cut and v otherwise badly bruised and s up mrs speight was removed to brampton hospital when- she is at disbursements in con nection with the old tyme dance held feb 19th showing a pleasing net pro fit to swell the institute funds mrs howard kentner conveyed the thanks of mrs frank cole to the in stitute members for the valentine shower which she received at st josephs hospital mrs d livingstone was appointed to attend the suinua county executive meeting to be held in milton march 5th in the place of the district direc tor mrs percy cleave a further gift of one hundred dol lars was voted to the cemetery board toward the payment for the cemetery gates the roll was called the members responding to their names with the month and the day of the rnorrth but not the year in which they were bom dr paul sr then gave a very in teresting and instructive address on the malntatnance of health fol lowing which he answered questions propounded to him on health topics and kindly volunteered to answer m writing any further questions put to him in writing through the institute dr paul concluded his remarks with a very gratifying tribute to the work at the womens institute in george town a hearty vote of thanks- was tendered him for his kindness in con senting to be present and delivering this helpful address mcrs harold cleave read an excel lent paper on the value of laughter following which she lead in the sing ing of community song from the new institute song sheets miss m e watson read a short selection from a paper published in 1906 describing an institute meeting held in georgetown as some of the original members still belong this clipping was of unusual interest to marry after a delicious lunch has been en joyed mrs kaiser was tendered a vote of thanks for her hospitality on this occasion two new mesnbers at this meeting b the total membership up to head of the canadian business college chat ham died at his home in that city late monday afternoon mr mclach- lan was bom in erin township on september 19th 1853 and went to chatham in 1876 to
