flfty4hree young men took part in the two competitions the local branch of the department of agriculture associated wmh miss betty wallace of the institutes branch to ronto had spent a great deal of time and effort in working to competition up before hand through coaching classes and direct communication with the young people and their efforts were certainly very highly rewarded by the response on saturday it was also most encouraging to the muni cipal leaders of our county to see the interest that the juniors of the ooun ty were showing in tbe jmior work being carried on under the direction of the local branch of the depart ment of agriculture as they had ex pressed their confidence in this junior work by substantially supporting these activities financially the obis judging competitions was held in the town hall milton with miss betty wallace m charge assist ed by miss badle and miss hopkins of the institute branch tile classes judged consisted of nutrition and clothing after the domestic science judging ootnpetrion was completed the girls participated in softbau and sports at the milton high school grounds through the very kind co operation of the school board this cooperation on their paut was very much appreciated on tbe part of competitors and the agricultural representative the livestock judging oompetition tendent of the agricutluraj- societies branch toronto was guest speaker and brought a most inspiring mess age to both the juniors and the older folks who at the banquet miss sadie of tn institutes branch was also present and spoke briefly eomp- june 7th at tbe morning session mr thetford of ac ton elected reeve by acclamation in place of the late george barber took the oath of office the warden on be half of tbe council expressed sincere
