that twenty years ago the staff of your school was com of six teachers with an enrollment of 206 mr a g green now principal of the east burlington school principal and my first impression of his outstanding ability has been justi fied through the years i find that i had occasion to remark especially the fine spirit of harmony prevailing among the staff a feature which has characterized this school through the intervening period tnere is also reference in my orat report to toe i of music under mr castell an evidence of the set thai george town was the pioneer in halton in introducing this cultural subject which is now so popular in the whole coun ty a surprise to myself in this first report is a reference to the absence of a library in the school immedi ate steps were taken to remedy this defect and at present the excellent library which has been built up in this school and is still being carefully added to by miss ryan is second to none tn any school of the same stse anywhere it was in the first of my as inspector hat you found it impera tive to ask the ratepayers for the provision of additional accommoda tion which was readily granted 1 need not recount the story of ad vancement since that time suc cessive boards have been steadily a- llve to the needs of tbe school and i have to express again my appracla- uon of the way in which they have met the schools demands the pro vision made at that time twenty years ago has given the school an audi torium and platform stage which probably is not equalled rn any town of the sise in the province in conclusion i may refer to the new scheme of admission to high schools as introduced by the entrance boards this year and report that it worked very satisfactorily as usual the pupils of your school made an excellent was under the impres sion the watches were for the george town boys alone as i was working there and my home elsewhere i could never believe that a watch or any thing was waning my claiming it in
