and georgetown swing into action again at the arena here it is taken for granted mr hoceky fan that you will be present something should be said in re gard to the way jock bennett of toronto handled the bolton georgetown intermediate playoff here it was a treat to have such a capable official in charge of such an important game be won the favor of both the fans and the players for his straight forward and unbiased de cisions and attitude throughout the entire game the oja executive would no doubt have less arbitrating to do if they had flftl rials of jock bennetts calibre co handle all games we dont see any reason why the time is not ripe to challenge ac ton for the peter smith trophy it is some years since acton won this cup and it has not been put up for competition in the meantime this trophy was donated by the late peter smith of acton to be played for by players form acton and georgetown under 21 years of age we don t think georgetown was ever in a bet ter position to challenge acton than this year there are rumors in the neighboring town that they would like to put the cup up for competition again in the harris cup game at acton fast night acton and georgetown intermediates played to a 7 tie the georgetown goal getters were tost 2 ward 2 walt richard son ken richardson and ritchie it jifas a wide open game with both teams taking advantage of the breaks maple leafs vs black hawks candlcns amcri cans georgetown fans had nothing but praise for their intermediate squad for the fine showing they made in the league and playoff games this season never before has an intermediate team played better hoc key or put more into the game than the present team did in the plajoffs with bolton they had to put even more info the game to offset the stellar gpalkeeplng of a player that was in a class much above ihtermedl ate b every jilayer without excep tlon gave his best and it was only sheer luck and as we said before fine goalkeeping that kept them from ad vanclng into the oj3a playdowns the boys can hang up their skates and put their equipment in the mothballs with the thought that they did their best for georgetown and it job well done most everyone thought it was useless to enter an intermediate team this season that the boys had- seen better hockey day and that they were almost ready for the shelf after much ado they form ed a club and the squad never play ed better hockey in their career and the fans now say another year should see the time ripe for an intermediate oftamplowhlp for oescgetown take sheeny tost for instance st has been playing hookey for georgetown for a good many yearsone of the beat centretoe men tn the county yes in ontario and when fans thought he jrould soon fodow tbe vat of xoaney and vonacbsr he takes is another old stand by and his de fensive ability has always won for him the favor of the fans in goal tbe team had harry malone who was a new comer to the team and the town last season he played brilll antly through out trie past two sea sons and the management are well pleased with their find the alter nate hat is none the less important than the first string line on the forward line dave crichton turned in his usual good gme his fast skating ability placing him in a class almost of bis own at centre bui ritchie who has not been in the game of late drew favor for his tricky check trig and ability around the net pordgy rkldall who stepped up from the junior ranks this season turned in some good efforts for his first year in the intermediate class lloyd sanderson who also came up from junior was a trusty alternate on the defense george chaplin al though not playing in the playoff games went well during the league games and had a number of goals to bis credit and that folks
