on monday night the motion came after an ot ter had been received from emayor joseph gibbons to purchase the build ing for 11000 the original price which the town paid the banknf mon tnftl two years old est pioneer resident died in peel memorial hospital brampton on tuesday january 30th in his 87th year mr kennedy had enjoyed re markably good health until the last eleven weeks when he suffered a series of four strokes born in erin the son of the late john and sarah kennedy he attended baillnafad school for a time and mov ed to georgetown with his parents at an early age mr john kennedy was one of the firs settlers in georgetown and he played a prominent part in the advancement of the town the late hiram kennedy could recall very clearly the time when there were no brick houses in georgetown he was a marblecutter by trade and after spending years at the trade he be came a drover for the late mr hugh clark upon mr clark s death mr kennedy became a horsetrader he was a methodist
