hie georgetown herald wednesday june 6 1945 one good term deserves another h1johes cleaver federal liberal candidate for halton polls close at 6 pm to my friends in halton through the press over the radio and on the public platform i have endeavored to frankly tell you the plans of the liberal party and the type of legislation which 1 will adocate for the post war period during the campaign i have not brought in to the rid ing any outside speakersvbnt have discussed your problems with you personally aa when the elections are over it is your elected member who will be representing the riding and not high powered speakers from outside places i hold very strongly to the view that when elected a member should serve all constituents in the riding irrespective of party affiliation during the ten years that i have been your member i have given personal attention to every proper re quest which has been made to me by anyone conservatives and liberals alike i believe that both my political opponents as well as i iberals will freely concede this fact should 1 be re elected there will be no change in this stabhshed practice the war has taught us many lessons if we have sense and courage enough to profit by these lessons canadians can enjoy a standard of living almost double what it is today the war has proven beyond all doubt that we can finance the pro duction of everything which it is physically possible to produce the liberal party is pledged to full employment and social security for everyone i believe that in the post war period we should use the same determination to win the peace as has been used to win the war and that we should not hesitate to use the lessons which the war has taught us to achieve the type of post war life which we all desire yours sincerely hughes cleaver l
