plans for the new sewerage system the following motion was al so passed and will be forwarded to the provincial department of heattti at once that whereas the question of in stalling a complete sewage system in tbe town of georgetown was submit ted to the ratepayer on october fltta 1945 and whereas the ratepayers by a vote of m2 to 78 expressed themsel ves in favor of the project therefore the municipal council of the town of georgetown requests the provincial department of health to issue an or der under authority of tbo public health act to facilitate toe carrying out of the wishes of the ratepayers mr allan norton addressed coun cil asking for a permit to operate a bowling alley a license was granted cording to town bylaw the meeting was originally called to consider tenders for a new tow truck and this winters snowplowing bat as complete information had not been obtained this was left for the november meeting councillor orr moved that coal dealers be licensed in view of the fact that coal dealers were handling a necessity of life they should be re sponsible to the elected representatives of the ratepayers it was the opinion of mr orr that perhaps the local coal- dealers were not buying their fuuquota of hard coal as they made more profit on substitutes he moved also that a public weighing scales be installed in georgetown his motions failed to get much re sponse o a seconder tragic death of hornby fabmes clifford robinson a lifelong real- dent of helton county met with a tragic death on monday october 8 when a bull which he was attempting to tie in its pen turned mad and attacked him he died in an ambul ance while being taken to milton hospital the late mr robinson was a son of mrs bertha robinson and the late heibert robinson of hornby and was born and raised on the farm where he met his death for many years he had been a member of lol 165 hornby also the black knights and at the time of his death he was past county master he was a member of st stephens church of england in his 44th year he was unmarried and is survived by his mother two sisters and four brothers mrs wh- lam crozier of wexford mrs roy cunningham port credit william at home albert or acton frank of hamilton and nelson of nerval the funeral under orange auspices was held wednesday arternoon with a private service at the home followed by a public service at st stephens rev 8 r was employed with harry logan he trained at borden and debert went overseas in sept ember 1043 and has been in italy and holland a ib albert kemshead home on leave pending discharge is ab abbie kemshead son of mr and mrs j kemshead and a well- known hockey player with the geor getown juvenile and junior teams of a few years ago abby has seen some thing of the world since he left home three years ago to join the army he trained as a paratrooper but was un able to get overseas so transferred to the navy and has been on atlantic duty with the sb clearwater park he is one of three children street for the past three years has purchased a butcher business in erin from mr f h arscott and took over ownership on october 1st mr bradley has sold his home in town but will continue to live here until he can secure a house in erin prior to entering the butcher busi ness he was employed at the provin cial paper lower mill he has taken an active part in community life as a member of georgetown devotional period was tak en by mrs nurse bible reading was psalm 100 the theme being god other sheep a pleasing duet was then sung by misses betty rnrtdeh and viola brigden the group were very fortunate in having their new minister rev and mrs alnswarth speak of their work with the kinder garten and teenage girls of showing pictures add costumes by the japanese people this very interesting its own way of combatting the housing shortage at present one navy frigate is be ing used in vancouver harbour as floating barracks for 150 men brought to the west coast port for discharge according
