conducted private funeral service from the borne on monday with interment following in greenwood cemetery georgetown pallbearers were walter lawjbon g h gillies hazen graham win bowman neil mceachera ouelph acton brampton milton waterloo and kitchener fob young travellers a wait between trains in a strange city with a couple of children in tow is a prospect grim enough to appal the most competent voung mother but from now on the new threeroom nursery in the canadian pacific rail way s windsor station in montreal will give both parent and youngster a chance to rest relax and freshen up before indications are that no teacher will be available for the fall term the board decided last spring to inaugur ate a 4drtdergarten at the school and equlpmert for rt has been ordered but obtaining a teacher has been the stumbling block as qualified teachers are scarce miss mary thompson was lifelong fin resident miss mary eliaabeth thompson a life long resident of glen williams died suddenly a average 78 14 6058 tot 67 vacation bible school conducted at churchill a very successful dally vacation bible school was held in churchill united chuch on the following days the 10th of july and the 14th to the 18th inclusive rev o r and mrs fllndall conduced the school of 28 pupils eight in the primary fifteen in the junior and five in the senior mrs fllndall was in charge of the primary junior classes mr fllndall bemg m charge of the seniors the school was held during the mornings only from 9 o clock to 1130 and the bible was the main text book studied the opening period was a devotional service the address ot which was il lustrated as much as possible by pic tures models and posters then the classes began handwork was em phasized and almost every method of visual education wbs brought into use the children learned not only by hearing but by seeing and doing as well and there was the keenest interest shown throughout the dura tion of the school on thursday the children were treated at recess to toe cream cake and chocolate milk con tributed by interested parents and friends on friday night there was a closing session to which the parents and friends were invited a service of worship was held at the close of which an exhibit of the work of the school was given the children were pres ented with prizes for attendance and memory work they were also given all the various articles they had made during the school such as book marks mottoes and posters mr and mrs fllndall iw d sur prised at the close of the service when the children presented them with a 33 piece set of lovely dishes a bouquet of roses to mrs fllndall and a tie to mr fllndall in appreciation of the splendid leadership and comradeship during tbe six day day term of school the bible deserves to
