ward 3 two council lor a lot has been said in this paper recently about public apathy in regard to municipal affairs and this is one way that ratepayers can prove that- they arc inter ested in local government in the pasl there has been a very light vote in town except in ca3es where the offices of mayor and reeve are at stake citizens are reminded that while these offices have perhaps more colour and there is more excitement in such a contest any elected office carries with it a responsibility and it is everyones duty to see that the candidates elected represent a true majority of public opinion this year for the first time we have a chance to vote on the men and women who will form george towns first board of education up to the present educational matters have been conducted by an elec ted public school board arid an appointed high school board and the two boards are being merged into one body which will be composed of seven members there are several important decisions to be made in the next few years and it is only fair to the members who will be elected that the public get behind them and show by voting that there is an interest in educa tion y meet your candidates as an aid to those voters who may not be famil iar with voting procedure or with some of the candi dates seeking office the following notes may be of help georgetown is divided into three wards the rough boundaries of which are ward i the district around the white bridge as far ddwntown as wesleyan street and the arena side of john street ward 2 the re mainder of town north of the highway ward 3 the park district down to the highway and including nor mandy boulevard ward 1 votes nt the old town hall ward 2 at cyril fords home and ward 3 in the municipal building only those
