consultant now says town needs a hospital dr harvey agnew natmade aki meeting last week at which it teratlons to the hospital report presented to county council last fall reeve stan allen told geor- sitown council at their meeting onday it is not quite what we would like but we realize that dr ag- new had to save face as much as possible said the reeve as he explained that a hospital is now recommended for georgetown the controversial report drew strong criticism locally when it appeared originally the agnew report recommended a hospital extension at oakville new hos pitals in burlington and milton and suspension of any present plans for a georgetown hospital though admitting one might be necessary at some far future date the reeve reported that the county hospital committee had a deddedto aproaetr cil with a proposal to subsidise the various hospitals with a deben ture issue which would raise funds to be reloaned to the towns the county has no debenture debt andt its excellent credit standing should make such an issue pos sible he said a 500000 debenture would be shared on a lbed basis and paid for on an a basis he said oakville would be a loser in one way because they would pay 453 of the issue and re ceive only 368 but urgent need for hospital facilities which that town cannot finance might find oakville in favour he thinks georgetown would pay 686 and receive 147
