attention to detail there will be decisions too to make on many import ant matters and it is no light job that an incom ing councillor takes on his shoulders it is not too much to ask surely that each man and woman entitled to vote should use his franchise and in fact should spend some time prior to monday examining the platforms of those who seek office and be as informed as possible about any issues involved in such platforms hell firemen by staying away w b binklby eight years- a hydro commission- er and chairman in 1957 e w binkley has been elected ty ac clamation for another 2year term hocsch with their sundays large barn fire could have had even more disastrous consequences than the loss of a barn and it was only a divine providence which allowed the fire truck to get to the scene at all through the maze of spectator traffic which threatened to clog lower main street entirely at one time there is something fascinating about a fire and there is no use pretending that human beings shouldnt be so curious there is an almost un controllable impulse when the siren sounds and the fire truck whirls by to follow it weve done it ourselves and weve been just as guilty as the next person of contributing to the mass confus- ipil around the fire scene but we have been trying hard these past few years to keep at a nomination or in advertisements in the paper to family arc living well away from the road which the fire truck must travel sunday for instance realizing where the fire was located we joined many others in view ing it across the valley on rexway drive we had in fact an orchestra seat compared to those who rushed down main street and got involved in the traffic maze on a slippery hill we know the firemen will appreciate it an other time if spectators keep their distance and particularly keep their cars out of the way their job is to save lives and property and the best way we can help them is to keep from hamper ing their arrival at a time when seconds count
