school district board for fire years mr mas- terman was appointed for a sixth term last wednesday night when the board met it harrison public school traffic safety officer ted scott was commended by tie board for the work contribui d in the interest of safety at the schools by him on his own time it was recommend ed by the board to the secre tary that a letter citing csl scotts outstanding safety work be written to the police committee the public school inspect ors preliminary report lor october was reviewed by the board briefly the report dealt with the first year teachers on the staff and christmas carols chapel street school group entertains at the lvlanof bless and keep you in a neat speech of thanks mr hugh dension remarked on the hap py memories evoked by the playing of these familiar tunes and thanked the band fortius very fine concert the serving of cold drinks and cookies to musicians the larger visitors and residents provid- part of this group was made up ed a social hour during which of about thirty young boys and girls of chapel st public school in georgetown assisted by a small number of singers and instrumentalists from other schools in georgetown the boys and girls were under the supervision of mr val stein the principal of chapel st school and their gifted music director mr k harrison arct mr stein was the very genial and capable chairman for the evening mrs james jsvans was the talented accom panist for the choral numbers while mr harrison accompam d those boys and girls who roles and duets the choir sang four groups of two numb ers each ranging from the negro song gom to walk all oyer gods heaven to the gay little song a merry life and the wellknown ballads my bonnie and clementine the choir sang in beautiful harmony and each number was greatly enjoyed selections by several vocal soloists mr tom jdarcie carol mcgilvray david farnell and barbara evans were also greatly enjoyed were saxophone solos by bob- mccumber a ptano solo by dorothy page and a cornet solo by robert wngglesworth vary pleasing also were a num ber of duets which included i duets by mrs evans and mr harrison vocal duets by mrs howard wngglesworth and mr stem bonnie dixon and roberta hawes and bobby mccumber and david farnell as well as cornet and saxo- duets b robert wnggle sworth and bobby mccumber mrs howard wngglesworth and mrs james evans teachers on the staffs of the georgetown public schools mr harrison is the director of music for these schools and mr darcie is on the staff of the glen williams public school robert wrigglesworth and bobby mccumber are stu dents at the georgetown high school and tavid farnell is a student at the howard wnggle sworth school all the other musicians are students at the chapel st school in george town a number of georgetown ladies and gentlemen parents of some of the children were also welcome visitors it would give the residents great pleas ure to hear that another concert by this group is planned the near future lome recently the following figures on the point demerit system over 65000 drivers have from three to six points regis tered against them and are in danger of reaching the twelve point limit in any twoyear period and losing their licences thirty five motorists have al ready reached their twelve point limit and lost their lic ences a total of 81 073 convictions under the point system rcgul ations were
