Seniors Scene with Pat Giguere Seniors in action Many years ago, I was offered my first job working'with a newspaper; but it was out of town and as I was only 191 did not feel ready to leave the nest. Here I am now with my second offer and well past that magical age, trying my hand. On Wednesday, June 17, a pot-luck dinner was held at St. Alban's, which saw another year end for the Golden Age Club under the successful guidance of Chris Robertson. Gerald Rennie conducted the installation of the new slate of officers for 1992- 93 year with Pat Giguere, President; Wilmer Davidson, 1st Vice-President; Jessie Roden, 2nd Vice-President; Margie Patterson, Secretary and Alice Leech, Treasurer. The club has now been in existence for 28 years and continues to hold meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 2pm and on the third Wednesday at 7:30pm. No meetings are held during the summer months but we resume on September 1. On the final trip for the year, forty five members traveled to Bobcaygeon on the 22 for a tasty lunch at the Bobcaygeon Inn followed by a two-hour boat cruise. It was a fine wind-up for the year. Then again, on July 9 a group of the members will be traveling to Hillsburg for a Zone picnic at Jack Dyce's farm. Those wishing a ride should contact Frank Thompson at 853-1978. Honest, Bill, I wasn't really mad at you but it's not very often you get a chance to point your finger at a policeman and tell him off. We really had a great deal of fun at the Picnic-in-the Park for Seniors but gee, golly, there must be a lot more seniors in Acton who could have joined in the fun that day. You don't live in a world all alone and there are plenty of people out there who would enjoy your company. Be a joiner, don't sit back and let the world come to you.
