14 THE NEW TANNER Novice Sabres, Shamrocks deadlocked for championship Acton Nellis Construction Novice 1 Sabres are tied at one game apiece with Erin Shamrocks heading into Sat- urday's final in Acton. "When it gets down to the final game anything can hap- pen," coach John Kirkwood said in an interview Tuesday, when asked to predict the outcome. "We have basically domi- nated all through Tri-County play all season and are play- ing really well, but you never know." Erin took game one of the best-of-three finals with a 2- 1 win in Acton last Wednes- day. Craig Kirkwood scored the lone Acton goal of the game unassisted. Acton bounced back on Monday night in Erin with a convinc- ing 4-0 victory. Goalie James Burgie was superb in the nets. Garrett Williams, Braden Artem, Greg Henry and Andrew Marcoux scored single goals. Assists went to Kirkwood, Ryan O' Connell, Kyle Fellows, Shaun Harkley and Chris Richard.
