Here are some tips and things to think about before getting on that bike and heading out on the road. Also the bicycle owner did not have a serial number, and sometimes did not know the make and model. Take the time right now and write down your bicycles serial number and other identification ,description and make and model! Several bicycles are recovered each year and turned over to Halton Regional Police Service, they belong to someone but have not been identified. Eventually they willbe soldatauction. Remember, bicycle helmets are mandatory for person up to 18 years of age, and further Section 104 (2.2) of the Highway Traffic Act states the parent or guardian of a person under 16 years who permits the child to ride a bicycle without a helmet is subject to a | charge under this section. Bicycles are not allowed on the sidewalk when being ridden, bicycles must be travelling on the right side of the road the same as a motor vehicle, and must stop for stop signs and red lights and are subject to the same fines as the driver of a motor vehicle. Parents please take the time to talk to your children about safe cycling and if you ride set a good example. Legion Ladies bowl well to end season The two Legion Ladies Auxiliary bowling teams ended their season with top 10 finishes at a provincial tournament featuring 40 teams in Niagara Falls over the weekend. The teams bowled well, within six points of each other, but were unable to re- peat their championship win Central Ontario AvcTioNEERS Professional Auction Services of last year. "We let somebody else have the trophy this year," joked bowler Pat Peterson following the tournament. "We had a good time and we bowled well and are look- ing forward to next season."
