"T dreamt I wanted to be a football player." Malinoski told the students. Malinoski grew up in Vancouver, British Colum- bia. He spent five years at Michigan State University, playing football on a schol- arship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. Mainoski then entered the CFL and played professional football for ten years. He JOHN MALINOSKI started with the Calgary Stampeders. AHS girls want win A steady rain forced the Acton High girls' softball team to reschedule their Monday game in Acton and the squad is still looking for its first win of the inter-school league sea- son. Acton lost 14-10 to Blakelock last Tuesday and 11-8 to Q.E. Park last Thursday. On the strength of the pitching arm of starter Jennifer Roberts, Acton was actually ahead 10-1 at one point in the game against Blakelock but the rule says that a pitcher can only stay in for four innings and Acton is attempting to develop a solid support pitcher. - vs > Adams GEORGETOWN _ RENT-ALL RENTALS © SALES © SERVICE 877-0157 lls s tudents playing days were over, he worked in a juvenile maxi- mum security prison in Oakville for four years. Malinoski told the stu- dents that he wouldn't have achieved so much in his life if he hadn't studied while at school. "Tf I didn't know how to read, write, and know some simple math, I would not be able to go off to university," he said. He also told the students to hold on to their dreams and to work hard to achieve their goals. "Don't let any- one say that you're dumb, you're stupid, that you can't do it, because you can," said Malinoski. Malinoski owns Tim Hortons here in Acton and says he really enjoys it.
