BANTAM Brent Beaumont and Dustin MeNight scored four goals each to help Fargo to a 12-8 win over Daniel Varanelli to take the Gold championship game. Adam Kemp scored three goals while Thomas Stokes had a sin- gle. Varanelli's Brad Norton, Tak Kyle, Mike Adcock and Bill McDonald all scored twice. Michael Dube was unstoppable, scoring six of M & M Sport's goals in a 9-5 win over MacKenzie Chapman to take the silver championship. Dan Walinga, Matt Knoepfli and Kevin Banby had M & M's other goals. Daryl Veltman scored three of MacKenzie's markers while Adam Lindsay scored the other two. Hardball McGhie a threat Jamie McGhie was hot at the plate and on the mound as Price Check trounced Hornby II 19-4 in an away game last Thursday. McGhie scored four times, had one RBI and went four innings allowing three hits and two runs. Shawn Richard scored three times as did Chris Galda and Derrick McKeon. Michael Meade and John Hirlehey each scored twice. Timmy Kirk and Adam Burgess each scored once. Burgess also pitched well, al- lowing two runs in two innings. The previous night Hornby scored seven runs in the first inning to take Price Check 12- 7. Acton battled back but couldn't make up the difference. Galda and Burgess put in strong performances on the mound. McGhie scored twice while Galda scored once and had three RBI. Meade scored twice and had a-RBI while Burgess and Hirlehey each scored once and Tim Kirk had a RBI. In earlier action Price Check beat Carlisle 6-4 and dropped an 8-5 game to Kilbride. GIRLS -- Under-13 The select team were runners up at The Woolwich Select Soc- cer Tournament last weekend in Elmira. In the preliminary round on Saturday Acton beat Woolwich 4-1, tied Waterloo 1- 1 and lost to a strong team from Whitby 2-0. This qualified the team for the semi-finals on Sunday where Acton defeated Georgetown 1-0 on a goal by Holly Goddard in a hard fought game. The final saw Acton give a spirited performance but lose 4-0 to Whitby. It was an excellent effort by all players, said coach Dave anks.
