Fry and Joseph Querques scored for A&S. Acton IIT 1 4-2-0 ROOKIE Acton III dropped a close 5-4 game to Carlisle in an away game on Monday to end it championship hopes. Both teams were tied for first place at the end of regular season play. Acton domi- nated the game with a 4-1 score for most of the game. Carlyle jumped ahead in the last inning to take the win. Stephen Bennett play4d well at second base while Nicholas Glover made some great plays at first. Both Tyler MeNiven and Braeden Halls pitched well and Garrett Nuttall made a great pop fly catch. Elias Frechette played an outstand- ing fielding game as pitcher and made numerous quick, accurate plays to first to get many runners out. PEEWEE Acton Price Check, in fourth place at the end of the regular play, had their best game of the season and came up with a 5-2 win in an away game in Carlisle on Monday night to take game one of the best two-out-of-three playoffs. Ice times for the first week only are as follows: NOVICE 9:00 am ATOM 10:00 am * The first MIDGET tryout will be PEEWEE 11:00 am September 9, 1998 at 9:00 pm BANTAM 12:00 noon at the Acton Arena. Ice times for the subsequent weeks will be announced at the tryout on Sept. 6 (or Sept. 9 for the Midgets). Please Note: Due to insurance regulations, players must be registered in order to be eligible to try out. Please ensure that your child is registered or he/she will not be allowed on the ice to try out. REGISTRATION We will hold a registration day at the Acton Arena on Saturday, August 15, 1998 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Please have your child's health insurance number with you. New players should also bring a copy of their birth certificate. Players who have been registered with Acton Minor Hockey in previous years may register in person at the arena but are subject to the $50 late fees.
