Hardball Acton 3 league champs Acton 3 rookies continued their winning ways to take the league championship with two extremely close games on the weekend. Acton 3 defeated Carlisle 11-10 in the final. Braeden Halls had a triple, a double and three RBIs. Dustin Roskam had two doubles and Elias Frechette had a double, a sin- gle and two RBIs. Acton 3 defeated Carlisle 19-18 to take Lacrosse the first game of the three game series final. Roskam, who had a home run, a double, a single and two RBIs tagged the run- ner out at third to end the game. Tyler McNiven had a double; a single and four RBIs while Braeden Halls had three sin- gles and three RBIs. Nick - Glover turned a nice double play, catching a pop fly -- one of three he caught in that game --and tagging the runner out at third. In game two Acton defeated Kilbride 12-7 with great hits from Jenn Roskam, Garrett Nuttall, Halls, Phillip Kuypers and Stephen Bennett. Kuypers had a single but managed to steal three bases before the play was over, getting all the way home on a single. Acton 3 took the first game of the semi-fi- nals 16-10 over Kilbride. Acton Rams 'B' champions NOVICE 'The Novice Rams dropped a 10-2 game to Fergus and a 7- 2 game to Brantford to end their playoff hopes. Greg Henry scored both of the Ram's goals, with one assist from Shawn Harkley in the game with Fergus. Braden Artem scored both of the Ram's goals in the game against Brantford. As- sists went to Shawn Harkely, Greg Henry and Sean Nellis. PEEWEE The Rams won the "B" zone 8 championship with a 7- 3 win over Arthur last Wednes- day. Both Kyle McDonald and Matt Bronizewski scored twice for Acton in the game against Arthur. Jesse Sparkes, Chad Artem and Scott Williams each had singles. Aaron Chaisson, Chad Artem and Bronizewski each had two assists. Bronizewski led the scoring with five goals in a 13-1 playoff win over Fergus.
