Our next trip is to Rama Commencement exercises Friday evening 92 young people received their Ontario Secondary School Diplomas along with assorted awards, scholarships and bursaries during Acton High school's annual commencement exer- cises. Jennifer Rigney received 11 awards including a Gov- ernor General's Academic Medal, an Outstanding Graduating Student Scholar award and the J.S. McLean Scholarship from the Univer- sity of Toronto. Wayne Porty received five awards including leadership, academic achievement and Board of Governors scholar- ships from Redeemer Col- lege. Laurel Soutiere earned the Kevin Broostad Art Award, the N.R. Richards Masonic Bursary, the Cana- dian Federation of University Women Georgetown bursary and a Post Secondary award, a Heather Tamblyn Memo- rial Award and a Communi- cations Technology award from McNabb Graphics. Donald MacKay received a Canadian Federation of University Women Georgetown Post Secondary award, the Standard Products Technical award, a Lakeside Chapter IODE bursary, a Gr. 12 construction award from Halton Hills Electrical Con- tracting, a Gr. 12 Construc- tion Technology award from All the Best for 1999 Doris & Merv Barber Nor-Halton Park Standard Products and a Gr. 12 Applied Physics award from Proplastex Industries Ltd, Class _- valedictorian Michael Morrow received the James B. Ledger proficiency awards, the Acton Medical Group scholarship and the' Margaret McCullough schol- arship.
