The contest was organized by building managers Dot and Alf Roach. Dot Roach commented how great all participating balconies looked and about the many comments they received. After final judging was done by Sgt. They took a 10-0 loss to Guelph in an away game last Thursday and a 4-0 loss to Brampton in an away game last Monday. RK Daniel Kearn's goal with two seconds on the clock lifted the Major Novice squad to a 4-3 win over Arthur last Tuesday. Kearns also had a single earlier in the game along with David Moore, David Garvie and Matt Angell. Assists went to Stephen Bennett, Jeff Malcolm, Riley Graydon and John Traversa. ATOM The Acton Tanners Minor Atoms were edged 4-3 by Georgetown in a home game on Sunday. Braden Artem, Kyle Fellows and Shawn Harkely scored for Acton. Assists went to Greg Henry (2), Wade Kuiken-Rogers and Jason Dowthwright. PEEWEE After winning seven straight games the Acton Tanners Minor Peewees took three losses in a row includ- ing a close 3-2 home game loss on Sunday to Brampton. Acton goals came-from Jesse Sparkes and Pat Collins with assists from Tim Pembleton (2), and Sean Hitchcock, who with Matt Sebastian, was called up for the game. On Saturday Sparkes had a goal with help from Mike Kuipery as Ancaster downed visiting Acton 3-1. Last Tuesday first place Ancaster downed Acton 8-1. Sparkes scored for Acton with help from Collins. , JUVENILES The Acton Tanners Juve- niles picked up a pair of wins last week in Tri-County play. On Saturday Acton tripled Tavistock 6-2. Brian McIntyre and Jim Corrigan both had doubles. Mike Krause, and Jeff Mitchell had singles. Assists went to Phil McIntyre (2), Trevor Malloy, Jason Pembleton (2), Adam Petch (2), Mitchell, Scott McIntyre, Jeremy Bannerman and Ryan Prueter. Municipal News Lots on hold Plans for the 13-lot Molinaro estate subdivision on the southwest corner of Highway 7 and Fourth Line in the Bannockburn rural cluster are on hold. The de- veloper said that current mar- ket conditions aren't good for estate lots and asked town council to recommend to Halton Region that draft ap- proval for the development be extended for one year. New Town clerk Barbara McEwan, the Town's new clerk took over December 14. McEwan has 17 years of diverse experi- ence in municipal govern- ment, including a stint in the clerk's department in the newly-amalgamated City of Toronto. Prior to that, McEwan, who grew up in the Milton area, was deputy clerk in Scarborough and a plan- ner in Lethbridge.
