Front: Jenna Timmings. -- Frances Niblock photo Local skaters medallists at meet in Orangeville By FRANCES NIBLOCK The New Tanner Acton Figure Skating Club member Jesseca Brake, 10, had three top finishes at a recent Skates Alive club competition in Orangeville. Five other Acton skaters also came home with medals from the midway west event. Brake said she won because she remembered her coach's advice. "She told me to smile, look up and do my best and that's what I did," Brake said during a local club test night last Thursday. Brake grabbed first prize for her pre-preliminary solo, solo dance and team_ele- ments with Mandy Timmings, who also won a bronze in the senior solo dance. Sister Jenna Timmings and Emily Vickery placed third in the CanSkate team elements competition. Holly Bailie, skating in a field of 80 girls, captured third place in the pre-prelimi- nary freeskate.
