Located in the former township of Nassagaweya, this archaeo- logical site is expected to = new information on the istory of our native peoples. Dr. William D. Finlayson, Director of the London Mu- seum of Archaeology, will lead the expedition. Finlayson has conducted ar- chaeological research on the Iroquoian occupation of the Crawford Lake area for the past 31 years. He is well known for his work in the discovery and reconstruction of the Iroquoian village at Crawford Lake, and pub- lished a four-volume study in 1998. For the first time ever, the Museum is inviting members of the public to join in the discovery and take part in the in excavation of the site. To help raise the funds needed for the dig the Museum is offering three different Field Excavation and Laboratory Research Programs for a fee. Orientation, training, field i lab work, and meals are offered in the program pack- ages. Archaeologists and other professional staff su- pervise the site. Participants stay at nearby Mohawk Inn or at local campgrounds.
