THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 1999 THE NEW TANNER 15 IODE resumes meeting By Dot Norton Well, here we go on an- other fall season for the IODE. Hope everyone had a good summer. Alma Braida hosted our September meeting. It started early because it was a dessert night. Mary Papillon surprised Helen Otterbein witha cake for her birthday. Regent Helen Jocque opened the meeting with the flag salute and prayer of the order. We had 13 members and two guests present. Rosealee Dawkins has heard nothing yet from our school in the north and is going to telephone them. Joyce Sprowl reported the bale the chapter sent to head- quarters was valued at $1,840. For such a small group we didn't do badly. We kept out some mitts and toques to send to our school at Christmas. Joyce will discuss Christmas Hampers at our Oct. 14 meet- ing. Chapter members sold tick- ets at the IGA for the Novem- ber 13 draw. The bazaar is coming along by leaps and bounds with very few changes this year. Halton Women's Place wrote us an interesting letter about two small boys. A challenge has gone out toall chapters from the annual meeting to bring in 500 new members nation wide as part of our 100 anniversary year. Regent Helen Jocque closed the meeting with a RAISED FUNDS:Carol Jordan reports the Kids Help Phone booth raised $420 towards the bowlers' charitable cause at their Fall Fair booth. a ARB & POGL CLOSINGS CHEMICALS REPAIRS Yard CLEAN UP CUT: FERTILIZE 26 YEARS EXPERIENCE : (905)702-0029 couple of quizzes.
