SENIOR The Acton High school senior girls' basketball team suffered a pair of losses last week with a 69-11 defeat to visiting Pearson and a 39-13 loss to E.C. Drury. Chrissy Pereira was top scorer with seven points, fol- lowed by Ruth Eddolls with three and Shannon Gray with two in the game with Pearson last Thursday. Sarah Osborne scored one of two technical foul shots and the top defen- sive rebounders were Eddolls and Gray. Jessica Wright put ina great defensive perform- ance. Both Rebecca Austin and Eddolls scored five points as Drury downed Acton 39-13 last Tuesday. JUNIOR Holly Goddard racked up 11 points, shooting 79 per cent from the foul line as Pearson beat Acton 52-26 last Thursday. Meghaan Williams had six points and Krista Kearns had four. _ The junior girls hosted an eight-team tournament on Saturday and finished as con- solation final winners. Over- all points leaders at the tour- nament was Meghaan Williams followed by Holly Goddard and Meighan McIntyre. In the first game Pearson downed Acton 37-26 after Acton got off to a slow start in the first half and Pearson ran up a lot of points. Acton rallied in the second half but Juvie streak ends The Acton Tanner Juve- niles ended a four game win- ning streak with a penalty- filled 4-0 loss to Aylmer in an away game on Sunday. The loss was a come down after a 13-1 win over visiting Thedford the night before. The eight Thedford farm boys who showed up didn't know what hit them as they were out-skated and out-shot by Acton. Ron Routledge led the scoring with four goals and an assist. Adam Petch, Marc Forbes and Garrett Erdelac each scored twice and Brian McIntyre, Shawn Weatherall and Jim Corrigan had singles. Assists went to Derrick MclIntytre (3), Corrigan (2), Weatherall (2),Routledge. Mike Hills (2), Erdelac (3).Grant Russell (2), Forbes (2), McIntyre and Jesse Ward. In recent play the Juve- niles racked up three regular season wins in a row after doubling Thedford 6-3 in an away game and pounding Lucan 8-1. Corrigan led the charge against Thedford with a hat trick. Daryn McIntyre had a single and two assists. Forbes and Routledge had singles. Petch had three as- sists, Daryn McIntyre had two and Chris Legge, Forbes, Petch, Derrick McIntyre and Kyle Artem had single assists. Mike Kempton was in goal as Acton trounced Lucan 8-1 with two goals from both Erdelac and Russell. Artem, Daryn McIntyre, Derrick McIntyre, and Ward had sin- gles. Assists went to Forbes, Daryn McIntyre, Erdelac (3), Ward. Petch (2), Routledge, Russell and Derrick McIntyre. Justin Babin earned the shutout as the Juveniles blanked Watford 4-0 in their regular season opener in Watford earlier this month.
