TED TYLER TRAVEL SERVICE A "Best Price, Best Service Since 1972" 853-1553 379 QueenSt., , Acton THE NEW TANNER THURSDAY. NOVEMBER 4, 1999 | Hundreds enjoy BIA's Spooktacular By ANGELA TYLER The New Tanner Saturday's Acton BIA Halloween events were spooktacular. The unseason- ably warm, sunny weather made the perfect afternoon for children to enjoy an extra day of tricker-treating. The former YMCA build- ing was decorated and played host to the BIA's annual Haunted House. Hundreds of children lined up for the chance to explore scary crea- tures, enjoy mysterious sto- ries and bob for apples. Chil- dren were given goodie bags and a map that would lead them to finds from participat- ing downtown merchants. By mid-afternoon the sidewalks on both sides of Mill Street were lined with children in costumes. Along with the treasure hunt for tempting treats, the BIA also had a colouring con- test, a ju-jube guessing con- test and a costume contest. Mayor Marilyn Serjeantson had a difficult time judging the children with so many interesting and dif- ferent costumes. Popular themes this year were cos- tumes from The Wizard of Oz. many action heros and kitchens & baths and so much more!!!
